The Transporter
Throughout September and October, Kat was back and forward between her grandparents' houses and various aunties and uncles, who all wanted to have her for a visit or for the night. She still got to go home in between, though, and she has been growing fast!
She's had lots and lots and lots of photos taken and barely even flinches at the camera flash any more.
I blame her stay in SCBU, but she always manages to push her arms out of her blankets and sleeps with them up - so that's why she always has mittens on when she's going to sleep. I think she got used to not having blankets in intensive care, and now she doesn't like being bundled up!
The only things that have been a bother are that she's caught a wee cold, and she's managed to pull her feeding tube out - twice! But the women at Orakau Road House are experts at putting new tubes in, and so it's only a matter of driving Kataraina over there and they can get a new tube in quick smart. Naughty little monkey!
It took her a while, but she's pretty good drinking from the bottle now, but she will often sleep through her 2am feed and wake up an hour earlier than normal for her breakfast bottle.
She has occasionally had fits, but mostly she sleeps, eats and looks around at everything. I have played music in the car (not LOUDLY) and she seemed responsive - though ABBA garnered a bad response (crying), so I changed to Ben Harper and the Blind Boys of Alabama and she seemed quite happy all the way to Orakau Rd!
